VIRO Osnabrück opens its doors to TECHNOS e.V.: Successful ‘Open Factory’ with exciting insights and dialogue

On 25 April 2025, VIRO Osnabrück GmbH hosted the ‘Open Factory’ of the TECHNOS e.V. association. Over 20 participants took the opportunity to network and take a look at the future of materials technology together.

After a welcome from Prof Ulrich Krupp, Dr Florian Winter, Sales & Business Manager at VIRO, introduced the company and gave exciting insights into the projects and working methods at VIRO. During a subsequent tour of the premises, the guests were able to experience live how the engineering office understands and implements innovation.

A particular highlight of the day was the keynote speech by Prof Dr Katrin Jahns from Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences on the topic of ‘Additive manufacturing in product development: opportunities and challenges’. Her presentation made it impressively clear what potential lies in modern material processes.

TECHNOS e.V. was founded in 2016 to pool expertise in materials technology in the Osnabrück-Emsland region. The aim of the network is to facilitate access to state-of-the-art materials technology, testing and development, particularly for small and medium-sized companies.

The event concluded with a joint snack, which provided space for further dialogue and networking.
